Each DoctorCloud device has embedded a new technology, a chip known as ‘NFC’ (near-field communication).
NFC was designed for use with mobile phones. Most Android and Windows >8 smart phones have this technology and it’s anticipated that, by the end of 2015, virtually all new smart phones will have it.
The new iPhone 6/6s has finally an NFC chip included but Apple have locked this down to just their own Apple Pay system. However, by the end of 2015, it is expected that a software update to IOS9 will unlock this chip to work with a much wider range of devices, such as Doctorcloud ones.
